Speaking Drummer Technical Rider - Sean Noonan

This document outlines the essential stage, backline, and vocal requirements for a performance by Sean Noonan Speaking Drummer.

Important Note: I will only bring sticks, brushes, mallets

Cymbals, Drum Kit, Drum Mat, Vocal Amplification Needs to be provided

Able to work with any drum kit you can provide.  

A few preferences are highlighted in Bold

I. Stage Plot and Backline Requirements

DRUM MAT OR CARPET NEEDS TO BE PROVIDED

DRUM KIT (Prefer Full 5-Piece Kit)

Manufacturer Preference:

Pearl Export Series, 

Yamaha Maple Custom 

Sonor AQ1 – 5 piece drum kit, 

OR Ludwig, Gretsch, 

Drum Heads: White coated drum heads preferred (Remo ambassador heads) (please clear plastic heads especially on snare).

Item: Snare Drum

Specification: 14" x 6.5" wooden shell. (really dislike clear snare drum heads as I can’t play brushes properly on them)

Item: Bass Drum

Specification: 18"–22" Prefer 18” Kick

Notes: Prefer dampen-able Kick Drum (not a jazz sound). Ie. outside head with a hole to allow a towel to be placed inside for dampening, if needed.

Specification: 12"

Item: Kick Pedal

Specification: 1x single or double kick pedal. (prefer double kick pedals)

Preference: DW 5000 Series double bass drum pedal (used as a single pedal).

DRUM HARDWARE

1x Snare drum stand

1x Hi-Hat stand with clutch

4x Cymbal stands

1x Carpet to place under the drum kit to prevent sliding.

DRUM THRONE

Type: Prefer Standard round drum stool.

Preference: Dixon 9290 Series Drum Throne or equivalent.

Specifications: Comfortable 13'' Round Vinyl Seat.

Adjustment: Adjustable between 19.5'' and 23.5'' with Spindle Height Adjustment and Memory Lock.

Really Dislike: A grooved throne, motorcycle seat throne, or bicycle drum seat version.

CYMBALS & PERCUSSION (Artist-Supplied or to be provided by promoter)

Zildjian Custom K Worship – medium dark cymbal set

1x Hi-Hat Cymbals (Preference: Zildjian Dark Jazz Series)

2x Crash Cymbals

1x China crash (preferred)

1x Wind chimes that can be attached to a cymbal stand.

1x Tambourine that can be attached to the Hi-Hat stand.

II. Vocal and Stage Support Requirements

VOCAL MICROPHONES: I REQUEST 

2x Vocal microphones (preferred with on/off switch)

2x sturdy adjustable boom stands that dont move or slide around

Mic 1 (Main): Used while sitting, located next to the Hi-Hat.

Mic 2 (Standing): Set up in front of the drum kit for standing use.

MONITORING

2x (or at least 1) Wedge stage monitors (placed to the left and right of the drum throne).

MISCELLANEOUS STAGE GEAR

1x Music stand (I need this for sure) with clip-on light to secure sheet music.

2x Piano benches or small tables to place percussion and sticks (positioned on either side of the kit).

ELECTRONICS:

If performing with electronics, I will bring Macbook pro laptop and you will be cable to connect into headphone jack and Roland SPD e-drum pad

III. Stage Lighting

A proper, private lighting setup is required.

Lighting should feature dimmable lamps focused on warm colors.

IV. Hospitality Rider (On Stage Requests)

4-6 Bottled drinking water with NO GAS (sparkling water is not desired).

Several clean towels.
